This is Project 2525
This project is a slow-burning return — 25 drawings rescued from sketchbooks that have lived on the shelf and in the margins for decades, each one a memory, idea or fragment waiting to be realised. I’m reworking them in oil, pencil, ink — whatever medium the piece needs — and committing to finish at least 25 over the next 25 years.
Why 25? Because these drawings span more than 25 years of thinking and wandering. Because pace matters; because revisiting old work with new hands and eyes often reveals something richer. Because limits create focus.
Progress so far: four pieces completed and ready to share. Each one is a conversation between then and now — the original line-work, the habits of an earlier self, and the choices of a now-seasoned maker. Expect translations that keep the original spirit but allow for the texture, depth and reconsideration that oils and refined drawing techniques bring.
